Slo-Grass has been entertaining New England audiences for over 20 years with it's unique brand of music drawn from many different traditions including
bluegrass,
blues,
jazz,
americana,
folk,
rock,
world, and
celtic reggae (what?) - lively Bluegrass instrumentation featuring mandolin, banjo, guitar, acoustic bass, and dobro - vocal selections showcasing rich 2, 3 and 4-part harmonies.
Slo-Grass (definition) - Bluegrass musicians are always pushing themselves to play some pieces at breakdown tempos. On good days when it all comes together, time SLOs down; then picks and fingers meet with passionate grace on the strings while the mind rests easy like the proverbial candle-in-a-windless-place. The band members: Bob Dick on acoustic bass, Fran McConville on mandolin, Mark Davis on guitar, and David DiBiasio on banjo, dobro, or nylon-string guitar. |
